The Guild is a 501-C6 non-profit and relies upon the support of businesses and individuals such as you. We raise money to support our outreach and educational efforts through membership dues, fundraisers, The California Artisan Cheese Festival, in-kind support and sponsorships. Join us as we support California finest artisan food producers and make our State the most delicious place on Earth to live. Here are ways to do that:
Donations: Do you have products or service that might benefit the Guild? Do you print t-shirts? Can you assist in grant writing? Do you have a product or service that we could use as a raffle prize or silent auction item during our October Guild fundraiser? We appreciate your support and would love to plug your business or products when appropriate.
Events: We participate in and host a number of annual events. Below are some examples of events we’ve been part of in years past. If you are interested in inviting our Guild or Guild members to participate in an event you are organizing, fill out this form (as far in advance as possible prior to the event). We will do our best to respond to your inquiry but cannot guarantee a response.
Annual Guild Fundraiser: One of our more important events each year is our annual Guild fundraiser. This happens in the third week of October at The Cheese School of San Francisco. Buy a ticket for a night of fun or, even better, bring a whole gaggle of friends and eat your heart out!
Annual Trade Day: Each fall the Guild organizes a day of learning for our trade members. Trade Day themes vary from year to year but generally include presentations by respected industry specialists or cheesemakers, opportunities for networking and guided tastings of new and upcoming products.
California Artisan Cheese Festival: This not-to-be-missed event happens in the third weekend of March each year, at the Sheraton in Petaluma, CA. It is a great way to support The Guild while learning an immense amount about local cheeses and cheesemaking. A portion of the proceeds raised feeds directly into our outreach and educational efforts.
Sonoma Valley Cheese Conference: This February gathering of “cheese minds” from around the country is an intimate and long-standing cheese community tradition. The Epicurean Connection hosts this event in Sonoma, CA. The Epicurean Connection is both a trade and cheesemaker member of our Guild.
Cheesemonger Invitational: This massive festival of cheese cutting enthusiasm rotates through various regions of the country annually. We’re always excited to participate through volunteering, organizing and competing—and especially when it’s taking place in our backyard.
American Cheese Society Conference: An annual conference which takes place in various cities across the U.S. which gathers over one thousand cheesemakers and professionals for conferences, education and tours.
Good Food Awards: A new and upcoming system of accreditation for authentic, tasty and, most importantly, responsibly produced food. An annual judging takes place each fall in San Francisco and many of our members enter their cheeses.
Cochon 555: We take part in several of the events falling under the Cochon 555 umbrella. The Cochon effort began as a way to celebrate heritage breed pigs and the amazing culinary traditions connected to them.
We participate in events that we feel give our members excellent exposure. We are always interested to hear about new events. Note that we cannot guarantee a reply to all event inquiries.
Membership: Enthusiast rate is $60. Individual cheesemaker or trade member rate is $100. Company membership rate is $350 for up to 5 members. Corporate membership rate is $1000 for up to 15 members.
