The mission of the American Cheese Society is to provide the cheese community with educational resources and networking opportunities, while encouraging the highest standards of cheesemaking focused on safety and sustainability. Many CACG members are also ACS members, and most of our cheesemaker members compete in the annual cheese competition held in conjunction with the ACS Annual Conference.

California's Artisan Cheese Festival is a weekend long festival dedicated to promoting California artisan cheeses. The festival features educational seminars and tastings, tours of local creameries, a Grand Tasting featuring chef's creations using artisan cheese, and a full day market place of cheese. Many CACG cheesemakers and members participate in the event, offering the public a chance to not only try their cheeses but meet the cheesemaker as well.
